1337, being nonviolent, calmly asks Chaz to make a profile before this gets any uglier.

CANON POST: WEAPONRY AND ARMOUR

The weapons are pretty much the standard fare of the high middle ages and renaissance. There are long swords, short swords, scimitars, pikes, lances and axes, all in the familiar sense. It should be noted that the setting is HIGH FANTASY, not ANIME FANTASY, which means anyone trying to make a 14 year old character wielding a sword twice his size will be promptly told to switch his/her brain on before trying again. The one exception to this is the small set of renaissance and non-standard weapons. These will be touched on briefly;

Rapier:
The rapier is a light, quick sword with a blade of about 80cm long, the rapier possesses a slim, flexible blade used almost exclusively for stabbing It is a weapon favoured by members of the noblity or those who would like to fancy themselves so. The rapier has a well-earned reputation for finesse; it requires years of training to use correctly. In combat, it is easy enough to tell the experts from the novices. The untrained use it as a normal sword, essentially clubbing their enemies to death with what is basically a light metal rod. Trained swordsmen wield their weapons like quill pens, darting in subtle, quick movements, using the bulk of the blade to deflect attacks while making squick, jabbing strikes of their own. Due to the small amount of metal that actually goes into the blade, the most expensive and well made of rapier blades are alloyed heavily, making them all but imperious to magical protection and shielding.

Boar Spear:
The boar spear is a heavily reinforced short lance about 2 metres long. It is relatively light for a spear and has a long, tapering head. Behind the head are two "lugs", pieces of wood or metal fixed perpendicular to the shaft. During the hunt, these lugs would be used as a barrier to stop charging animals from using their weight to press through and maul the hunter. Incidentally, this also applies to charging soldiers, making this weapon an excellent choice for soldiers who do not have the requisite bulk to go hand to hand armed with a regular spear. The lugs can also be used to hook on the boss (edge) of a shield, wrenching it away from the shieldbearer.

Godentag:
What is essentially a large, heavy club with a spike set at the end. It can be used for either wailing on an opponent in the usual sense or as an impromptu anti-cavalry weapon, not only able to be used like to pike to stop charging horsemen, but also as an armour piercing spear. The Godentag is usually used by town militias and cannonfodder infantry, due to the fact that it is both cheap to produce and easy to train with.

Guns:
There are two types of firearms currently in use; the Matchlock Musket, and the Wheelock Pistol. The former is an infantry weapon, being roughly a metre long and made out of wood and metal. They take up to five minutes to reload and are extremely heavy and cumbersome. Should it rain before a battle, the match becomes waterlogged and the weapon becomes useless until it dries. The matchlock uses a small strand of slow burning fuse to light the gunpowder and propel a lead ball. The wheelock works on a similiar principle, but instead of a match, it uses a flint "wheel" to light the powder. Not only does this make the wheelock far more reliable, but it also expedites the loading process, since a new match does not have to be affixed each time. Either way, their long reload times make both varieties essentially a one shot weapon.

The wheelock is far more compact than the matchlock, but it is also much more expensive. It is the preferred weapon of cavalrymen, who can usually afford the expense of outfitting their own weapons. Of course, still being one-shot weapons, Cavalrymen usually carry atleast two pistols with them.

Firearms of this gae are unwieldy, innaccurate and unreliable. The one reason that they are such a useful weapon is the fact that gunpowder, being a mix of minerals, has no life force, and as such bestows none upon it's projectile, making the metal bullet completely immune to any magic of any sort.

The only exception to this is the Runegun. Runeguns have barrels which are engraved with enchantments causing a field within the barrel of the weapon. This barrel doesn't effect the bullet, but the barrel itself, allowing it to bestow properties like flame, armour piercing and explosive force at the gunner's will. Runegun shots, are hoever, suseptible to magical shielding, and are usually not used in situations where the gunner is facing a mage.

I suppose the rapier, and the boar spear, but the firearms aren't in there.
Except in the DM Guide. They have some examples of Renaissance weapons.

Which version are you talking about? 3 or 3.5? Because that's the one I'm referring to.
Yes, they have other weapons, but then, so does GURPS (Generic Universe RolePlaying System).

Just thought I'd tell you, I've been without Internet since the calls for blood... I'll edit my profile into this post.

Edit: Name: Samoth Locke.

Gender: Male

Age: 36

Position: Captain (Or whatever)

Homeland: Antar

Alignment: Neutral Good

Equipment: Full Plate or hard leather armour, depending on the situation. Aslo a hand and a half sword and whatever else he can get his hands on.

Archetype: Badass Normal, Training from Hell, the Toblerone.

Personality: Apparently more jovial than the most of the other members of the Mobius Legion outside of battle, socializing with his subordinates during the times outside of battle. On the field however, He becomes almost an entirely different person in his entirety, Giving Commands that will most assuredly be followed out, and fighting like a beast with little care for his own safety. He is significantly bitter towards his former govenment and feels that their dithering lost the war and cost him many more men than were nessicary. Aside from fighting and socializing, Samoth can frequently be found training, making sure that he and any of his men are in the best of manner for when combat does come.

Biography: From as early as he could remember, He was trained to be a knight, an attempt made at both courtly manner, and combat training was applied, but the boy took more to the latter and little to the former, taking his training to an extreme, gaining near perfect form. He then found himself in the unfortunate circumstance where he was easily predicted in sparring, and as such, adapted to vary his style in the middle of a fight seamlessly, in order to keep his opponent on his toes, while not negating the purpose in his earlier training. Eventually, he was made a squire, and after that, a Knight. He rose in rank enough that, when the war occurred between the Antar League and Terra, he was given his own command, though he was constantly forced to the sidelines due to the Congress' foolishness, and lack of delegation. After the war, He broke with the country of his birth and eventually found his way into the Mobius Legion.

Question: Are all the people in this RP part of the Mobius Legion? My character right now is in the employ of the Vykkian magocracy, but I can RP a defection if need be.

Hence why I said (Or Whatever) after the rank. wasn't sure what rank was avaliable, so I didn't change it from the prototype script.
