Nah way man--loopy helpful Sith super hero and his straight man Khem Val. The galaxy's most beloved comedy duo.

"Quickly Khem! We must save these orphans! But how could we possibly power this entire prison complex long enough to lift all the blast doors as they make their escape? I have it!" *shoves his hands into a massive outlet and electrocutes himself using sith lightning to power the complex as Khem watches with a scowl and the orphans run off*

*Last orphan escapes and Syldenar collapses as a steaming charred heap. Khem Val takes a step to the right and flips a switch, turning all the lights in the complex on* "Clever little Sith sends orphans to die in enemy crossfire outside rather than waste away in cells. A masterful act of cruelty, master."

*>.>*

I could SO see Khem doing that! He really doesn't like most of Syl's choices. :P

I'd love to see Syl forcing Khem to wear clothes.

I'd love to see Khem in the weird and wonderful selection of clothes he currently has equipped, matching or otherwise. I just picked anything with the right stats, or which I could mod with the right stats, since nothing shows up on him. If Syl does care about appearance he'd be mortified to be going around with him. :P

Now that I know where to go to hatch eggs I should do Threin's. He's had his for almost a year.

Oh yeah the Orokeet. Ask took forever to find a moisture vaporator that could be harvested--now it seems like I see one every time I'm Tatooine.

EDIT:
Unrelated to Orokeets but so so relevant to the topic:

so I finally figured out how to turn off the bitraider streaming and got this working on my PC again and...

well it's just like picking up any other bioware RPG after two years of inactivity. I have no sense of connection with any of my characters or what choices they've made already and I think I'm going to start again on shadowlands

I'll be on skype or steam or whatever

Well you've picked a good time to start again, with it being double XP week. I'm using it as an opportunity to move all my low-level characters on a bit.

Like he said, he hasn't played in a while. It takes me a bit to get back into the flow of playing my characters and I have dedicated rules for their responses.

It's possible to create a Character and not feel much Attachment to it.

yeah no I ended up messing around some more and after talking to a few quest-givers I began to remember who they were (goddamn those voice actors can work it)

I still don't really remember the details of the quests I've done or the people I've interacted with but I guess that's what the codex is for

In that case, you probably haven't given much depth to that character, it'd be more like creating it just because they need to exist, rather than creating a character and developing them until they become relevant of their own accord o.o

Glad you're finding your character's roots again dude xD

Though I do think it's possible to create a character, feel attached to him/her at the time but then lose that connection if you haven't used them for a long time - just as it's possible to lose the close connection you might have to a friend if you go your separate ways and then meet up again after a long time. I've certainly had RP characters where it's taken quite an effort to get back inside their heads and regain an attachment to them if the RP they were in has stalled and then restarted after a long break. Of my TOR characters I can't imagine ever not feeling a connection to Threin, Ardi or Syl, who are all characters who I feel quite a lot of affection for as people (in addition to them being further fleshed out by detailed backstories), but some of my less likable characters (such as Khinzak), or characters whose in-game depiction doesn't appeal to me so much (like Nali'in or Lanez - I find the male BH's voice slightly irritating) might well be hard to relate to a couple of years down the line if I hadn't been using them during that time.

I'd actually argue that the MORE complex a character is, the harder it is to grasp them within the strict confines of the relatively limited answers of the Bioware Dialogue wheel. It's Why Yuo is such a successful TOR character. What is the most violent/aggressive/insulting response I can give? Yeah, pick that one. Unless it involves going back on a contract of course. Then figure out if there is a way either the spirit or the wording of the contract allows for violence.

Tywysoges, on the other hand, has different rules, and I play her like a person. She's much more complex, and as a result, that makes things difficult.

Yes, I've experienced exactly the same thing. Khinzak's easy to play; she's arrogant, scathing and enjoys violence - there's always something amongst the dark-side options to fit those. But then you come to Threin, who was born in the Republic, has been in the Empire since late childhood, and is emotionally scarred, and sometimes there simply isn't an option that comes anywhere close to his attitudes or reactions based on his personality and life experiences. Or Syldenar, whose class story allows for a light-side Sith, but many of the general planet-missions don't. Nevertheless, it's my more complex characters who I feel the greatest connection to despite the difficulty of representing them accurately within the confines of the game, very possibly precisely because of that - each time I come to a choice I have to stop and think carefully about which one, or indeed whether any of them, might be a plausible reaction and so I spend a lot of time getting inside their heads and analysing or justifying their choices.

I'm slowly getting back into SWTOR, been playing in the mornings before work really and have been working on Shadowlands characters instead of my old server post-merger Jedi Covenent so I was thinking it was time for me to find a new guild when Crystal reminded me that there was a guild here.

So are you still open to new guild mates? I do have characters on both Republic and Imperial sides as well but right now it's leaning more toward my Republic characters as my capped toon is a Trooper and everyone else is lagging behind in either the teens or still on a starter planet.

We're open to new members but I'll be honest with you and say the guild is very small and currently I think I'm the only person here still playing regularly so if you're looking for an active guild where you'd get to do a lot of missions I think you'll be disappointed.

23:42 - FMZeth: I think I've been using companions wrong.
23:41 - Chaz Natlo: ?
23:42 - FMZeth: Well I don't know if you recall or not but a while back
23:43 - FMZeth: a long while, as in the last TOR binge I had
23:43 - FMZeth: I had said "yeah companions have multiple modes you can set them to, so I'm going to set my tank off of Tank mode and on to Damage mode so I don't have two tanks"
23:43 - FMZeth: but I gave up on it quickly because the companions seemed to adjust some but still mostly did what they always did
23:43 - FMZeth: Scourge was the primary example
23:42 - Chaz Natlo: I seem to remember that.
23:44 - FMZeth: I wanted him to DPS because Bialar was already tanking and he needed some to do the damage
23:44 - FMZeth: and I wanted to build affection with Scourge and just...use him because I never had
23:44 - FMZeth: but he was STILL just taking SO much aggro and not doing that much more damage
23:44 - FMZeth: well I'm looking at the companion skill bar again now
23:44 - FMZeth: after thinking about some of the moves the companions have in common
23:45 - FMZeth: and I notice that some of the moves have little green blocks filled in them and others don't
23:43 - Chaz Natlo: ... I know.
23:45 - FMZeth: I know you know
23:45 - FMZeth: but I always wondered what those blocks meant
23:45 - FMZeth: and it's occurring to me that they don't use all their skills in combat all the time
23:44 - Chaz Natlo: If they're filled, they're set to on, yes?
23:45 - FMZeth: they only use the ones that are checked
23:45 - FMZeth: yeah
23:46 - FMZeth: So a character like Scourge was using his "GENERATES HIGH THREAT" move all the time and never his high damage moves.
23:46 - FMZeth: I feel like such a moron
23:45 - Chaz Natlo: I'll refrain from comment.
23:47 - FMZeth: ...thank you I think.
23:47 - FMZeth: I just want to headdesk so much right now.

EDIT:
Oh, right, you guys know I've been back into TOR again for a while, right?
