So I was wondering if anyone around here would be interested in taking part in a new RP. Those who knew me from the Comm may know that I have never successfully completed an RP, but don't let that stop you.

Here's how it is: I start college in a week and three days, so my timing here is not real great, I admit. I don't know how busy college is going to make me, but my schedule looks pretty good (I only have class three days a week, for one thing), so I'm hoping I can make it work. If enough people are interested, I shall take the time I have to write up the notes for the RP and then, if I don't have a heart attack on the first day and college generally goes smoothly, we can start the RP-I predict sometime early in September.

As to why I'm posting this now, instead of waiting until such time as I can be sure of things, the main reason is that I want to take advantage of the free time I have right now to write up the preparation for this RP, but I do not want to spend this free time doing so if no one is interested. (Also the forum seems more active lately and I was hoping to strike while the iron was hot, as it were.)

On to the RP itself. It is a fantasy one, as you might could glean from the title, a high fantasy to be specific. It was originally conceived as a Dungeons and Dragons campaign that got put aside for lack of players. It takes place in Vieryn, a very loosely designed campaign world of mine that has never seen the light of day for similar reasons. The world is, therefore, somewhat what you would expect from a DND adventure world-high fantasy, lots o' magic, pre-gun technology, more races than you could shake a stick at, etc. Since I no longer need to be bound by DND conventions, however, the world may have changed somewhat to reflect this.

The RP is designed to be a relatively short one. In RP terms, of course, this may mean it goes on for years but it is designed to have a beginning and an end, rather than to be an ongoing project. It takes place on a stretch of tropical islands lately suffering from a mysterious curse, which the protagonists have fallen under.

I feel I should warn you I am not an expert on, well, anything really, so it's entirely possible I may screw up and create an economic system that doesn't make sense or insert ships which are too advanced for the period or craft an island climate that could not possibly sustain itself. But I'll do my best to make it work.

If you are interested despite all this, say so in this thread and we'll work from there.

You can definitely count me in. I was already keen to take part in the DND one (even if I was apprehensive due to lack of detailed understanding of the workings of DND) and this should be easier for me to cope with. Not to mention I already know you create great RPs. :)

Four people will do nicely. I'll get to work.
