Comments: "I'm aimin' to misbehave." That's right; a sci-fi about people traveling endlessly in space finally worth watching. No offense to anyone who likes Star Trek or other similar shows, but Firefly just has something those other shows don't have. Maybe it's the zany characters or great humor; perhaps it's the fact that the major storyline actually changes within the show. This show is different in the sense that the characters aren't trying to find their way home; in fact they're running away from it! Actually, they're outlaws running away from the government, each of them for their own reasons.
Still, that doesn't make this show entirely about running away from the law. They have all sorts of "fun" adventures, whether it's rescuing a town of "companions" (read: "partner" for hire; the difference here is that these women actually provide emotional support as well as physical . . . fun) from bigoted men or killing off Reavers (think cannibals on steroids . . . with rabies), their goals and viewpoints on life change as the season progresses. That's something most shows don't have.
What's lacking from the show? Well, while action scenes are good, there isn't much suspense to be found, at least most of the time. Other than that, it's a good series with no complaints here. Unfortunately, Firefly is a one-season wonder. However, there has been a movie created for it, called Serenity.
