Mercury Ice music review on Muse's album Origin of Symmetry.

Sound: 10
Lyrics: 9
Originality: 9.5
Overall: 9.5

Comments: Okay, I admit it: I'm a piano junkie. Muse is my addiction. I love the way he plays piano, and this CD had this wonderful spacey theme that just made my heart palpitate. You may say I'm being dramatic, but really. I loved this CD.

My three favorite songs from the CD were "New Born," "Bliss," and "Space Dementia." "New Born" has this beautiful opening (on piano of course) and bursts into an energetic song filled with guitar riffs and Matthew Bellamy's beautifully uncanny voice. "Bliss" is a bit different. The piano and the guitar come together in this song, and Matthew Bellamy sings, "I want the peace and joy in your mind/Give me the peace and joy in your mind." Creepy, huh? I love it.

"Space Dementia" is my favorite song not only from this CD but from Muse as a whole. Bellamy shows off his piano skills, making you feel like you're floating in outer space, and then goes into this really frighteningly beautiful song about adoring someone so much you hate them. Good stuff. I wish I could play piano like him. It's the one song I wish he would have played when I saw them at PinkPop 2007.

What's that? You haven't heard this CD? Go get it. Now.
