Mercury Ice music review on Muse's album Black Holes and Revelations.

Sound: 10
Lyrics: 9
Originality: 9
Overall: 9.3

Comments: "Oh, you set my soul alive." That's exactly what this CD does: set your soul alive. With songs like "Supermassive Black Hole" opening Black Holes and Revelations, who can deny it?

Other songs worthy of giving another listen are "Starlight" (from which lyrics the CD title comes from), "Invincible," and "Knights of Cynodia." When they played at PinkPop in the Netherlands in 2007, they opened with "Knights of Cynodia," which I hadn't heard yet. Needless to say, I immediately got a hold of the song and have listened to it several times since. It's a great opening song, with severe dynamics and a build up that will get any Muse fan going.
